Andrology refers to the medical field that deals with men's reproductive health, particularly male infertility and sexual dysfunction. Male infertility plays a crucial role when couples have difficulty  conceiving. Therefore, male infertility is considered a health issue that lowers the chances of his female partner getting pregnant. There are many causes of infertility in men. Diagnosis of male infertility starts with the patient's medical history and physical examination.

Andrology services include a range of tests recommended by andrologists to manage male infertility. They are

•    Semen analysis: It evaluates the level of sperm production and sperm's function including sperm motility.
•    Transrectal Ultrasound: It helps to check the prostate and look for blockages of the tubes that carry semen.
•    Testicular biopsy: Testicular biopsy is done when a semen test shows a very low number of sperm or no sperm.
•    Hormonal profile: This helps to rule out major health problems.
•    Post-ejaculation urinalysis: The presence of sperm in urine helps to detect whether sperm are traveling backward into the bladder instead of the penis during ejaculation. 
•    Genetic tests: A blood test reveals subtle changes in the Y chromosome. Genetic testing helps in diagnosing various congenital or inherited syndromes.
•    Specialized sperm function tests: These tests check the survival of sperm after ejaculation, sperm's ability to penetrate an egg, and getting attached to the egg.
