Singleton Pregnancy Scans
Three scans are required throughout the pregnancy-
- NT scan at 12 weeks
- Anomaly scan between 18 and 24 weeks
- Growth scan at 32-34 weeks of gestation
In high-risk pregnancies, the scans might be performed more often in order to recommend the right time for the delivery of a healthy baby.
Multiple Pregnancy Scans
- NT scan between 11 weeks and 3 days and 13 weeks and 6 days
- Ultrasound scans every 4 weeks with an aim to deliver the twins at around 37 weeks. In identical twins, the frequency of the scans are-
- NT scan between 11 weeks and 3 days and 13 weeks and 6 days
- Ultrasound scans every 2 weeks starting from 16 weeks of gestation due to the specific complications associated with the type of twins
In other higher-order multiple pregnancies, the frequency of the scans depends on the growth and the blood flow in all babies
